West Mifflin, PA__4.02.09 – Adventureland… the Contest! arrives on the Kennywood Website  (www.kennywood.com) on Friday, April 3. This look-a-like contest coincides with the opening of the Greg Mattola film, Adventureland. The last day to enter the contest is Friday, May 1, 2009 at 11 p.m. Winners will be announced via the Website and at the park on Opening Day, Saturday, May 2.

Guests to the site have a choice of eight characters from the Adventureland movie from which to see a resemblance. If so, the guest becomes a contestant by simply uploading his or her own picture with the character they look like.

All entries will be posted on-line (www.kennywood.com) for the world to see and to vote for the closest look-a-like for each star.

Every contestant receives complementary admission* to the park Saturday, May 2!

Prizes fall into the following two categories:

1. Eight (8) winners from on-line votes (electronically calculated):
   Four (4) 2009 Kennywood FunDay passes, Adventureland T-shirt & poster
2. Contestants** attending Adventureland gathering May 2, 3 PM @ Kennyville stage:
   Eight (8) runner-up prizes @ park:
   - Adventureland T-shirt & poster
   Eight (8) First Place winners @ park:
   - Two (2) Kennywood FunDay passes, Adventureland T-shirt & poster
   One (1) Grand Prize winner @ park (chosen from 8 First Place winners):
   - 2009 Kennywood VIP Pass*** for 4 people
   - Yellow Kennywood Arrow signed by members of the Adventureland cast and crew

* Note: The first 500 contestants to arrive at the park before 3 PM on Opening Day, Saturday, May 2, will receive a complimentary FunDay Admission.  Any additional contestants arriving before 3 PM will pay only $10 for a FunDay Admission.

** Note: Winners in 2^nd category must be present at the 3 PM, Kennyville Stage gathering.

*** WOW! VIP Pass permits the winner to attend Kennywood as many times during the regular 2009 season as he or she would like… and bring three friends every time!  (The “regular” season does not include Phantom Fright Nights.)

FYI – Kennywood Team Members and their family members are not eligible to participate in this contest.  However Kristen Stewart, Jesse Eisenberg, Ryan Reynolds, and other cast members are eligible to participate, but should know that Kenny Kangaroo and other official judges cannot guarantee a win.
