| Possibly one of the finest examples of Disney ride theming, the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is based on the popular sci-fi series. The effects and ride mechanics are all a marvel of modern technology so well integrated you forget they are there. Opened in the summer of 1994, the attention to detail is incredible both in the queue and on the ride. Once through the queue, you enter the Library, where you get your first taste of what the story line is about. After that, it is on to the basement to await your elevator. On your way to the finale, you will encounter two experiences, the Corridor scene and the Fifth Dimension. This elevator moves both vertically and horizontally. The finale is a 13 story plunge (free-fall more of less). If you enjoy the drop, this one will take multiple rides to see even a portion of the small details left by the Imagineers. | |
